Hi all,
I wanted to share a new physical model of the {6,3,3} H³ honeycomb. This
is the very special object Andrey’s
MT633<http://astr73.narod.ru/M3dHT633/M3dHT633.html>puzzles are based
on. Its cells are infinite hexagonal tilings inscribed
in horospheres <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horosphere> (whereas we’re
used to having cells inscribed in finite spheres).
It is awesome to hold the model in your hand! You can see pictures and
order one for yourself here: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/roice3
I’ve been working on this model and other H³ honeycombs with Henry
Segerman<http://www.segerman.org/>.
The {5,3,4} is already available as well, and more are coming soon! I am
hoping we’ll eventually have models of all 15 regular H³ honeycombs (even
including the really exotic ones like the {4,4,4}, which I will share more
about later).
Cheers,
Roice
